SNB Freedom Years... Local Farm Tour Offered
On September 14, 201, a tour of Darke County farms is being offered by Second National Bank’s Freedom Years program. Participants will have the opportunity to learn about three local farming operations. Tour guides are Dennis Baker of SNB and Justin Petrosino, Darke County Extension Agriculture Educator. Coffee with the Commissioner
Commissioner Mike Stegall will be having a “Coffee with the Commissioner” on Saturday, August 13th  at Brown’s Sweet Shop in Versailles.  The event will take place from 8 a.m. until 10 a.m.  Everyone is invited to attend and discuss any situation involving Darke County.  Commissioner Stegall has had several of these events in an attempt to keep the citizens connected to their government.  This is an opportunity for all people to keep informed of happenings in the county and to ask questions about what the Commissioners are doing.  Please try to attend and get involved in local government.  Hope to see you there!

Tire Recycling Day Near
Tired of looking at those old tires lying around?  Not only are they an eye sore, they can be dangerous.  The Darke County Solid Waste District and the Darke County Environmental Council want to help you with your tire problem.  The district and council will be sponsoring a used tire collection on Thursday, September 22, 2011 from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. In addition to tires to being an eyesore, they are a nuisance to rural citizens who find them in their ditches, out in the fields and... read more.
GTS offers Park & Ride to the Fair for 75 cents
Donate a non-perishable food item and ride for 50 cents - GTS (Greenville Transit System) will be offering a fair shuttle service weekdays 5:00pm to 11:00 pm and the first Weekend 11:00am to 11pm.  The shuttle will run from the Martz Street gate (gate 3) to two locations on a continuous basis.  The locations offer free parking.  Drop off and pick up points... read more.

The Cast for DCCA’s MCT Pinocchio included 60 locals
The cast chosen for Darke County Center for the Arts presentation of Missoula Children Theatre’s Pinocchio presented two performances Saturday. The performances featured 60 local youngsters who had to compete for the roles they played.
