Garst Museum... Darke County, African Americans, and the Civil War

Darke County Senior Scribes
The Darke County Senior Scribes meets the fourth Tuesday of each month at different locations. It is an organization of adults who love to write. The Scribes have also established a Senior Scribe Scholarship Fund in order to provide scholarships to Darke County Youth who wish to pursue a career in the varied fields of communication. The Darke County Republican Mens Club
The Darke County Republican Mens Club meets at 8 a.m. the third Saturday of each month in the Private Dining Room of Brethren Retirement Community. A buffet breakfast for a nominal fee of $6 is included. Each month offers a speaker from the community to talk about topics of local interest. While the stated goal of the club is to support the candidacies of Republican public servants, membership is open to all men and women regardless of political affiliation. The Greenville Eagles is a fraternal organization dedicated to good will and fellowship, service to community and local youth. It is a place where  family and friends can enjoy a variety of activities, spirits, legal drawings and "chance," and good food. Aerie Membership is open to both men and women; but the Lodge also has a strong community-service Auxiliary membership for the ladies. One of the sponsored activities of the Greenville Eagles is the Annual Independence Day Celebration at Shade Road.
