Fascinating Images
So who is Chalkman?
Notes by Bob Robinson

As always, when I get an “Email Blast” that I feel CNO readers would be interested in, I do a little Internet research to see what pops up. Sometimes I get “urban legends” – ie, not so. Sometimes I find that it’s legitimate. I provide a little background information.

This is the first time I found (supposedly) two Chalk Men. For future reference, there is another set of chalk art that I’ll be posting in the future… a third chalk man?

For these images, I found a website, a YouTube presentation and a Wikipedia summary. Enjoy the images, then see if you can figure out who is who. No matter who did it, the images are fascinating.

From the “Chalkman” website…

“I first became a Christian when I was a sophomore in high school. I remember seeing Bill Gothard at the old St Paul Civic Center and at the end of his talks he would sometimes do a chalk drawing. Shortly after that, I joined a singing group from church, I couldn’t sing a lick--still can’t, but I would give my testimony and I’d draw an outdoor scene on a large tablet of paper.

“Unfortunately I fell away from chalk drawing and my faith and made some tremendous mistakes in my life. My life was empty and I realized I needed God back in the forefront of my life, so in 2002 I rededicated my life to Christ and I felt the urge to try chalk drawing again, I studied with Ding Tueling in Michigan, learned how the black light chalks worked and kept at it. I transferred the black light technique to the larger bed sheet drawings, and that’s a lot of what I do today.

“I live with my wife, Theresa, and three children in the suburbs of northern Minneapolis.”

Wikipedia, however, has a different story. Or maybe there are two chalkmen... you decide. Check out the Wikipedia Chalk Man here
