George Bush more popular than Obama

This is pretty much karma on steroids and PCP.

Americans now have a more favorable view of former President George W. Bush than they do of President Barack Obama.

It is the first time in more than a decade that Americans have expressed a favorable view of Bush, at least according to a new CNN/ORC poll released Wednesday.

Bush is seen in a favorable light by 52 percent of those surveyed, compared with 43 percent who still view the 43rd president unfavorably. Americans are split on Obama, with 49 percent responding favorably and unfavorably.

The last time Bush polled in positive territory was in early April 2005, close to three months into his second term.

The American public learns slowly and spasmodically but it learns. For the past six years, Barack Obama and his minions have blamed everything from body odor to Hurricane Sandy on President Bush. While there is always unfinished business from a predecessor and often the predecessor has dropped the ball on things, but at a certain point, you own it. Obama's performance thus far is like the old joke:

According to the apocryphal story, a person is hired to replace someone who was fired for poor performance.  Excited about his new job, he arrives in the recently vacated office to find the desk empty except for three envelopes left there by the now-departed predecessor.  Numbered 1, 2, and 3, a short note explains that they are to be opened only when the owner has really messed things up at work.  Our new hire sticks them in a drawer and forgets about them.

That is, until six months later, when he really messes things up.  Facing a tough situation, he remembers the envelopes.  He tears open envelope #1 to find a slip of paper that reads, “Blame your predecessor.”  Perfect!  He concocts a story that pins the problems on the previous employee and deftly sidesteps blame for the issue.

Another six months go by, and again our friend is in trouble.  This time, the envelopes are fresh in his mind, so he opens #2.  “Blame your coworkers,” it advises.  He does, and once again avoids taking the fall for a problem he caused.

It should come as no surprise that six months later, he’s in trouble again.  Fortunately, there is still another envelope.  He opens number 3, to find one last bit of advice: “Prepare three envelopes.”

(This story is nearly dead on, as Obama transitioned from blaming Bush, totally, to also blaming subordinates.) Obama is getting ready to fill out his three envelopes. The smoking bag of crap that he's leaving behind will make that job a lot easier. It will take decades before anyone but Obama can be blamed for much of anything.
