On Saturday nights it was gathering time in the small Iowa farming town
I grew up in. When I was a kid and my folks would sit around and talk
for what, at that time, seemed like hours on end, I just could never
understand it. Why didn’t they want to be up and running around with
all of their friends??
Hmmmm…………the Darke County Fair has shown me the error of my ways. What
a treat it has become to sit with a good helping of “fair food” and
talk with friends ……. and, most importantly: just watch the other
folks. Young folks, old folks, skinny folks, fat folks, stylish
folks…..well, we won’t go there…..
In the past few years, catching folks with the camera has become a
special pastime of mine. Also, catching things that are just a bit
unusual, things that make interesting combinations of
colors/angles/etc., and just things lots of us are inclined to look at
but really don’t see. Digital photography makes it easy to take several
hundred pictures in an evening. Hope you enjoy these few!
