Cheap Gas
From 1 to 3 PM on Saturday, the Lassus station on the circle had a lot
of business. Regular gas was selling for $2.57 a gallon, a
savings of 50 cents over the regular price. It caused a minor
traffic problem on East Main St. and around the Circle. The event
was the brain child of the Gospel Baptist Church. Bill Edwards is
the pastor. A spokesman said they wanted to do something to help the
people of Greenville. The members were helping with traffic and
also washing your windshield. An informational flyer and a window
sticker that said I “Heart” (Love) Greenville were provided .
What a nice thing to do. It wasn’t a price war, just a
