Annual “Gathering at Garst” Planned on the Garst Museum Grounds

Meetings are underway to plan an annual event to remember the defining events and people who shaped our county’s history. Committees have been formed and officers selected.

The mission of The Gathering at Garst is to promote awareness and appreciation of those who made unique contributions to the culture of Darke County and to celebrate the local heritage in a family-oriented and educational atmosphere.

The Gathering at Garst committee intends to bring a new and exciting event to Darke County and will strive to offer a quality show. The event will host juried vendors in the following categories: Artists, Antique Vendors, Skilled Historical Craftsmen, Primitive Folk Artists, Garden Exhibitors, Farmer’s Market and Specialty Vendors, and Food Vendors.

Officers of The Gathering at Garst committee are: Director, Clay Johnson, Ph.D.; Chairman, Jenny Clark; Co-Chair, Katie Gabbard; Secretary, Phyllis Mong; Assistant Secretary, Megan Hilderbrand; Treasurer, Marilyn Robbins.

The Gathering at Garst will be held on July 30 and 31. Public admission is free. All celebration proceeds will benefit the Garst Museum.
