accepting one-time donations starting at $50 a year; anonymous
donations in any amount…
You’ve proved our point… offer a good product or service and people
will come. We at the Senior Scribes Scholarship Fund and County News
Online believed we could do that; we offered it and you came. To the
tune of monthly traffic approaching 60,000 page views.
As we have said more than once: Thank you. You are awesome!
Now we need your help.
Our service provides news, sports and information to Darke County and
surrounding area readers, but our goal is to help provide scholarships
for Darke County youth heading to college in a communications related
field.
This requires donations, contributions, sponsors; and a marketing
program…
While our sponsorship opportunities have focused primarily on local
businesses, we know there are many businesses and individuals not
particularly interested in an advertising format, but might be willing
to donate to a good cause. We now offer that opportunity.
First of all, anonymous donations of any amount are gratefully
accepted. Because we are a 501c3 we have to record name and address.
Donations are tax deductible and we have to report them on our annual
IRS forms. However, names of contributors will not be publicly
acknowledged if so requested.
Not interested in an advertising sponsorship but don’t mind us thanking
you publicly? Click on our Sponsors tab at the top of the page and see
the list of individuals and businesses already supporting CNO. Your
name or business will go on this page. Annual contribution requests are
$200, $150, $100 and $50.
Checks or money orders can be mailed to County News Online, PO Box
1113, Greenville, Ohio 45331. Or use our Paypal option. Please be sure
to include name and address, and the type of donation (anonymous or
Sponsors page).
As with many other Non-Profits, we ask that you consider including
County News Online for an annual trust, a monthly automatic deposit, or
even include us in your will. Do you have a team of individuals who
might be able to help us build a marketing program? If so, we’d love to
hear from you. Anonymous donations of any amount are gratefully
accepted.
While our Home Page is fully supported by sponsors, there are plenty of
display sponsorships available on our inside pages. Highest traffic
pages are News, Sports, Community, Events and Blogs. Ask for
sponsorship information at CNO.
Once again, we will achieve our goal of $5,000 in scholarships to be
awarded in the spring. However, County News Online is building to be a
continual source of scholarships for young people today and in the
future. The Senior Scribes Scholarship Fund Committee hopes to continue
providing this service to Darke County readers long after the current
participants are no longer involved.
Also, the opportunity for continued growth keeps presenting itself on a
regular basis. One example is the pending unveiling of Digital Waves
from the IMTV program at Greenville High School. Once the project goes
“live,” plans are to expand it to promote participation from all school
districts in Darke County.
There are many opportunities to provide information that are lost
simply because CNO relies on volunteers with other commitments and has
no actual staff. Further expansion makes it essential to get more
people involved. This will incur expenses.
All of this – in addition to providing scholarships – takes money. We
have promised that this service will always be free. We will keep that
promise. That means we need your help.
If you aren’t interested in promoting your business, please consider an
annual donation or any of the other options mentioned above. In today’s
economy, a one-time donation of $50, $100 or more might be a lot to
some readers… but it might be a relatively easy way of supporting our
young people for others.
