Dave’s Diggity Dog Fest took place Saturday on the grounds of Garst Musuem. Even the chilling temperatures couldn’t keep a crowd of over a hundred people away from the festivities that had gone to the dogs.

Visitors could bring their dogs and get them registered, the first 100 people recieving free doggy bags. There were flyball contests, weiner dog races, dog games, dog agility, a dog walk and more, all specifically for the dogs. There were also pet-related vendors set up along the grounds such as Keller and a Raw Dog Food stand.

For the human participants, there were activities such as raffles, food vendors complete with a Hot Dog cart, music to keep you entertained, and even the Spike’s Dog House bouncing castle made an appearance for the young children. The Humane Society, along with the animal shelter, had animals on site, including puppies and kittens that could be cuddled and held by passing people.

As for the people passing by with their beloved pets, many types of dogs were seen. Ranging from the smallest Chihuahua to the largest Mastiffs, there was much romping around going on. Not to forget the average dogs such as Golden Retrievers and a multitude of Collies. Whether you were elderly or a Doberman, a child or a Poodle, Dave’s Diggity Dog Fest proved to be quite the attraction.
