Although Mississinawa Valley fans were handed a defeat on their homecoming night by Twin Valley South with a score of 35-6, spirits ran high as the community came together on that crisp autumn evening.

Students brought bagfuls of enthusiasm accumulated throughout the week while participating in numerous activities centering on the theme “Candy.”  Class banners were created and hallways were decorated.  Even the elementary classes joined in the fun with spirited banners.

The sweet spot, however, was in front of friends and parents, grandpas and grandmas, faculty and administration as young adults were recognized by their peers, as athletes stepped up to the challenge of a game, as the band entertained its audience, and as the cheerleaders chanted encouragingly.

Prior to the start of the football game, Steve Armstrong and Mallory Livingston were crowned Homecoming King and Queen by last year’s queen, Kelsey Keen.

Other senior court members included Brittany Johns, Chelsie Saintignon, Kylee Welch, Amber Flesher, Cody Evans, Denvor Jackson, Dalton Stump, and Dustyn Whitesel.

Homecoming representatives were freshmen, Lane Livingston and Madison Livingston; sophomores, Cesar Delgado and Victoria Humphries; and juniors, Cale Cox and Makinzi Marker.

Kindergarten court included Aaron Hummel, Jaydn Norris, and Aron Hunt.

MV football players were welcomed onto the field with colorful balloons representing each of the high school grade levels.

The touchdown for the evening was made by Dustyn Whitesel during the second quarter on an intercepted pass.
