Greenville Federal Sponsors DCCA Programs

Darke County Centr for the Arts...
Toledo Symphony Orchestra and Arts Programs for Children

Greenville Federal has donated funds to Darke County Center for the Arts sponsoring the upcoming Stars And Stripes Forever performance by Toledo Symphony Orchestra, the final show in DCCA’s 2011-2012 Artists Series line-up.  Greenville Federal also supports DCCA’s Family Theatre Series and Arts in Education programs which benefit Darke County youth and their families.  According to Strait, “Greenville Federal is justly proud to have recently received a coveted 5-Star Rating (the highest rating any bank can achieve) from Bauer Financial Inc., the nation’s leading independent bank rating firm.  “DCCA is thrilled that one of the many ways in which Greenville Federal shows its commitment to excellence and to our community is by helping to make the arts accessible at a local level.”

Toledo Symphony Orchestra will fill the stage at St. Clair Memorial Hall with its 60-member orchestra playing a rousing, patriotic-themed program appropriate for the celebration of the Hall’s 100-year birthday.  Tickets for the May 5, 8:00 PM concert are $30 for adult, $15 for students, and may be purchased at the door or ordered in advance; good seats are still available.  Contact DCCA at (937) 547-0908 or DCCA@CenterForArts.net for tickets or information.

Wizard of Oz, a perennial family favorite performed by American Family Theatre, will end DCCA’s 2011-2012 Family Theatre Series on Sunday, May 6.  Tickets for the 2:00 pm show are $5 and may be purchased at Readmore’s Hallmark in Greenville, and Worch Memorial Public Library in Versailles, or by contacting DCCA at 547-0908 or DCCA@CenterForArts.net .

Arts In Education series this year consisted of taking Kuniko Yamamoto’s Mask, Mime, and Music of Japan to students in grades K-3.  Lyle Cogen’s Sticks and Stones, Meeting the Challenges of Bullying, was welcomed by students and educators alike in grades 4-6. Improvisational comedian Robert Post captivated students in Jr. High and Sr. High with his hilarious Post Comedy Theatre.  All students in all Greenville City and Darke County public schools are given the opportunity to experience at least one culturally enriching artistic performance each year through Arts In Education which is supported by and planned in cooperation with school administrators, and also made possible by local corporate and foundation support, DCCA memberships, and the Ohio Arts Council.
