Fort GreeneVille DAR
DAR holds storytime at Garst Gathering 

Fort GreeneVille Chapter recently held a storytime at the Gathering at the Garst encampment tent of DAR member Karen Burkett and husband John. The storytime was based on “The Lewis and Clark for Kids” book written by Janice Herbert. The Burketts were in period dress in order to give a visual of the Lewis and Clark time period. Also included in the storytime was a craft time, making of an Indian buffalo mask. Afterwards there was a drawing for a copy of the book to one of the storytime participates. The book was donated by the Garst Museum Gift Shop towards the chapter’s literacy program. Twelve children participated along with eight chapter members.
