Cheerleading event was four hours of pure energy
By Bob Robinson

Such energy.

These kids were allowed four minutes for their performance and they used just about every second of it. It was constant movement, augmented often by gymnastics… somersaults, slides, jumps… you name it.

Such energy.

The morning was spent getting ready, practicing, prepping themselves and each other for the performance ahead.

Shelby Schipps, Tri-Village Senior, said they and the others had been working all summer preparing for it. The performances showed it.

At 11 a.m. introductions were made, with the Pee Wee Individual competition kicking off ten minutes later. Every four minutes a new contestant (individual or team) was introduced, then a new category through Junior High and High School (Varsity).

While the judges – Junior Fair King Lucas King, Junior Fair Queen Kelsey Burchett, Donna Snyder, Lindsey Jones and Jim Wilson – were totaling points, the kids took part in a variety of games… jumping and cheering.

Such energy. How many of the spectators were exhausted just watching?

Author’s apologies… a meeting commitment at noon made it necessary to leave the event for a little over two hours. The photos were taken prior to leaving and upon return.
