Festival of Trees Winners Announced 

GREENVILLE, Ohio, December 10, 2012, From Thursday, Dec. 6 though Sunday, Dec. 9, Sterling House Greenville, a Brookdale Senior Living assisted living community, celebrated their 3rd Annual Festival of Trees. 

The event was open to the public to experience the twinkling lights and beautiful decorations of the holiday season at Sterling House Greenville. The festival included custom decorated trees & wreaths by local businesses and organizations. All of these items were on silent auction and the proceeds benefit Senior Programs at the YMCA of Darke County. 

This year 25 trees and wreaths were donated by local businesses.  Businesses who donated a tree or wreath include: Heartland of Greenville, Integrity Ambulance, State of the Heart Hospice, Rest Haven Nursing Home, Darke County Sheriff’s Department, Heartland Hospice, Wood Sprite Garden Club, Village Green Healthcare Center, Spartech Plastics, Oliver Floyd Funeral Home, Kaup Pharmacy, Sterling House of Greenville, Helen’s Flowers & Gifts, Clare Bridge of Greenville & Western Ohio Podiatry.
 

On Sunday, December 9th at 2pm the silent auction ended and after tallying all bids the community raised just over $1200 for Senior Programs at the YMCA of Darke County.  Additionally, votes for the trees and wreaths were tallied in six different categories.  The winning businesses are: Most Traditional Tree-Wood Sprite Garden Club; Most Unusual Tree-Sterling House of Greenville; People’s Choice Tree-Western Ohio Podiatry; Most Traditional Wreath-Darke County Sheriff’s Office; Most Unusual Wreath-Integrity Ambulance; People’s Choice Wreath-Oliver Floyd Funeral Home. 

We would like to thank all of the local businesses who participated in this year’s event.  A special thanks also goes out to Wood Sprite Garden Club for decorating several areas in our community, Zechar-Bailey Funeral Home & Oliver Floyd Funeral Home for lending wreath stands, Ansonia Local Band for lending music stands & Janet Weimer for playing piano at our kick-off event on Thursday evening.
