Pig Roast 2012
another huge success!
Approximately 550 attended the Annual Darke County Republican Pig Roast
on October 21. It was held in the Coliseum on the Darke County
Fairgrounds. And thank you to those 550 people for sharing a beautiful
Sunday afternoon with us. And if anyone would like to know who cooked
the very very good pig, and that would be City Treasurer Barbara Fee.
Great Job Barb.
We would like to thank all the people that helped to set up and tear
down and or worked the day of this event. There are so many, and I
don’t want to miss any name, but you know who you are. THANK YOU!
The Republican elected officials of Darke County and the City of
Greenville served the food and paid for the pig. Darke County Recorder
Linda Stachler, Darke County Sheriff Toby Spencer, Darke County
Prosecuting Attorney Kelly Ormsby, Judge Jon Hein, the commissioners
Mike Rhoades, Diane Delaplane, Mike Stegell, Judge Jason Aslinger,
County Auditor Carol Ginn, Cindy Pike Clerk of Courts, City treasurer
Barbara Fee, City Council members, Todd Oliver, Tracy Tryon, Clarence
Godwin, John Baumgarder, Greenville Mayor Mike Bowers. State Central
Committee Members, Daryl Mchaffie, Lisa Hayes and County Corner Tim
Kathman. Also, Thank you to Attorney Jim Delting and Sheriff Toby for
taking
The donations up.
Our own JoEllen Melling did a wonderful rendition of the Star Spangle
Banner after Mayor Mike Bowers led the group in the Pledge of
allegiance. And a beautiful video and music was played while our
Veterans and the ROTC marched in. A thank you to Evelyn Sharp for doing
the silent auction.
Additionally, a huge thank you to, Eikenberry’s, Minuteman Press,
Lighthouse Christian Center, Hannah’s Garden Center, the Moose Lodge,
Wendy’s, McDonalds, Kesco Products, Buchy foods, and Eric Fee of Braund
Funeral home. All of these people/businesses contributed products or
services and without which this year’s Pig Roast could not have been
such a huge success.
A HUGE thank you to Greg Peck of Security Sound for another wonderful
job. Greg does this for us every year and the Republican Party does
appreciate you very much.

Secretary of Aquaculture, Mike Johanns which was our guest speaker.
Scott Jennings, Governor Mitt Romney’s Ohio Campaign Chair, Judge
Sharon Kennedy (running for Ohio Supreme Court) Justice Robert Cupp
(re-elect for Ohio Supreme court) Jeff Wilbaum (elect 2nd district
Court of Appeals) Senator Keith Faber, Senator Bill Beagle, State
Representatives, Jim Buchy and Richard Adams, Commissioners, Diane
Delaplane, Mike Rhoades, Sheriff Toby Spencer, Recorder Linda Stachler,
Prosecutor Kelly Ormsby, Clerk of Courts Cindy Pike and for Speaker of
the House John Boehner was Frank Debosse.
For the eighth year Barb Fee and I have had the honor of choosing the
Darke County Republican of the Year, and I had the pleasure of
announcing “Beverly Marker” as 2012 Darke County Republican of the
year. Bev was chosen for her outstanding long work in Darke County for
the Republican Party. Congratulations Bev.
Thank you to Mark Howdiesehll for singing God Bless America at the
closing of the event.
We are looking forward to seeing all of you back next year, so mark
your calendar for October 20, 2013.
