Tom’s Club memberships benefit FISH Choice Pantry

Tom Wetzel of Arcanum is the owner/operator of “Tom’s Club”, a nostalgia shop located at 104 West George Street in downtown Arcanum that offers a variety of locally-purchased antiques, collectibles, and practical-use items.  Wetzel says he selected the name of the shop as a spoof on a well-known members-only buying club.  Visitors to the shop are asked to provide a “one-time only, lifetime membership fee of just 25 cents” that Wetzel has promised to donate to the FISH Choice Pantry in Greenville each time there are 400 new Tom’s Club members.

The shop opened in May of this year, and Wetzel says he had hoped for the first donation to be in time for the holidays but is pleased to have reached this goal sooner than anticipated and is now accepting memberships towards his next 400 members.

Wetzel is shown presenting a check for $100 to Kristy Cutarelli, director of the FISH Choice Pantry.  Mrs. Cutarelli says she is grateful for the continued support that Wetzel has provided to the food bank, and she hopes others will be inspired to help as well. FISH is located at 400 Markwith Ave in Greenville and provides well over 100,000 pounds of food each year to needy families.  Both monetary and food donations are accepted. Food donations may be left in the container in the rear of the building at any time.  Call Fish at 548-2000 for further information.
