MVCTC Media & Video Production Students Working on Client Projects

Clayton, Ohio - The seniors in the Miami Valley Career Technology Center (MVCTC) Media & Video Production class are applying skills they are learning to real projects by working with several community clients.  These clients include Grace Bethany Nursing Home in Englewood, Clayton Fire Department, and also the security office at MVCTC.  Below is a brief description of each project. Grace Bethany Nursing Home in Englewood, OH- The students are creating a recruitment video.  They are working with the patients, staff, and administration at the nursing home to get video footage that will be used to produce a video.

Clayton Fire Department – The videos being developed for the Clayton Township website will be used to inform the community.  The first video is on proper leaf removal.  This will be used by home owners in Clayton Township for fall 2013.

MVCTC Security Office – Mrs. Jones is working with students to develop four videos explaining the MVCTC student code of conduct.  The videos are on parking, student ID, lunch, and locker use.  All four videos will be posted at www.ctctube.com.

MVCTC seniors in the Media and Video Production program include:  Thomas Ackerman (West Carrollton), Bethany Adams (Tipp City), Bauner Chafin (Eaton), Christian Delk (Eaton), Josh Denniston (Versailles), Brock Downing (Wayne), Kellie Eagan (Tipp City), Michael Greggerson (West Carrollton), James Hardy (Eaton), Clayton Jaros (Twin Valley South), Eric Meece (Brookville), Darian O’Neal (Eaton), Bradley Paynter (Carlisle), Brandon Peterson (Twin Valley South), Alan Sarver (Eaton), and Anthony Shaw (Tri-County North).

The MVCTC Media and Video Production Tech Prep program gives high school students many first-hand, independent learning opportunities such as these client projects. It is a wonderful way for students to learn valuable problem solving and interpersonal skills that will make them employable upon graduation.  The Media and Video Production Tech Prep students have completed other client projects in the past for Mary Scott Nursing Home, Arcanum Athletic Department, the Ohio Department of Education, MVCTC, etc.  To learn more about opportunities in this program for high school juniors and seniors, visit http://www.mvctc.com/mp.  If you have a client project that you need assistance with, please contact Mr. Patrick Carlisle, MVCTC Media and Video Production instructor at 937-854-6304.
