Big Brothers Big Sisters Partner Up With Girl Scouts
July 31, 2013

A group of Bigs and Little’s recently partnered up with Girl Scouts of America to provide female Littles and Bigs in the Shelby County Big Brothers Big Sisters with the opportunity to participate in the Girl Scout program. There were 30 participants in the program ranging in different ages.

The Bigs and Littles met from 7:00P.M. to 8:00P.M. One Monday each month for several months. While at the meeting the Bigs and Littles would participate in many activities while following the Girl Scout honor.  The activities revolved around positive choices, being a stand up character, and overall fun.

Jennifer Bruns, Executive Director stated, “This was a wonderful opportunity for the Littles & Bigs in our program to get involved in such a positive organization such as Girl Scouts. They may not have had the opportunity to do so if it weren’t for this partnership. The activities the Girl Scouts provide were wonderful and everyone left after each meeting learning something valuable and positive. I look forward to future opportunities of working with the Girl Scouts again. “

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Shelby & Darke County is a non-profit United Way agency.  We are always looking for additional volunteers.  If you would like more information on entering your child in the program or on becoming an active volunteer, please call 937-547-9622 or 937-492-7611.
