Wanted:
Old, Warn, Smelly Sneakers
Darke
County, July 11, 2013 —In coordination with the Light Foundation and
the Green
Sneakers organization, the American Red Cross Darke County Chapter are
collecting used sneakers, which will then Green Sneakers using their
network
will be re-using and repurposing the sneakers.
So not only do we keep items out of
landfills, but to encourage
collections, the Green Sneaker organization gives .50 cents a pound to
partner
non-profits. So
clean out those closets,
sneak out your spouse’s nasty gardening shoes, raid your kids closet
and bring
all your SNEAKERS to the Darke County Chapter office at 130 Martz
Street, suite
6, Greenville, OH 45331. Any sneaks will do, condition does not matter,
but they
must be of a sneaker type. They must be turned in by July 24th or after
that,
you’ll just have to wear them for another year.
