Republican Women’s Club host special membership party

“This was one of the nicest events I have been invited to, and the home is such a beautiful place,” said Ohio Federation of Republican Women’s (OFRW) President Jean Turner after she attended the special membership party hosted by the Darke County Republican Women’s Club (DCRWC) held recently at the St. Clair Manor. 

Turner was the featured speaker for the event and urged the women to be involved and make sure to keep themselves informed regarding what is happening in the government.  She told the group that where changes start is right here at home, in the community. 

The St. Clair Manor was filled to capacity as the group enjoyed dinner with special china, silver and linen settings at each place. Various games were played and gifts were given to each attendee. 

Representative Jim Buchy (R-84), Assistant Majority Whip of the Ohio House of Representatives, was present to help welcome guests and led the Pledge of Allegiance. 

The next meeting of the DCRWC will be held at 6:30 p.m., June 10 at the Chestnut Village Center of the Brethren Home Retirement Community. Featured speaker will be Darke County Common Pleas, Probate and Juvenile Division Judge Jason Aslinger. Aslinger has served in his current judicial position since an appointment by Governor Kasich became effective on April 4, 2011, and will bring the group up to date on events in his court. 

If you would like to dine with the group, the cost of the meal is $8, and reservations are due by June 6. Reservations that are placed, are expected to be paid in full. If you would like to attend the meeting, but not dine, you may do so by arriving prior to 7 p.m.
