Anna Lady Rockets Praised at the Statehouse 

COLUMBUS– State Senator Keith Faber (R–Celina), State Representative Jim Buchy (R–Greenville), and State Representative John Adams (R-Sidney) today honored the Anna High School Girls Basketball Team for seizing the Division III State Championship. 

“Anna’s is a great comeback story after such a disappointing finish to last year’s season,” said Faber, who also serves as President of the Ohio Senate. “The hard work and perseverance of these young women is astounding and they deserve all the praise in the world for this victory.” 

The Rockets bested Afrocentric in the title game 67-49 after losing the title to the same team in 2012. 

“It was a pleasure recognizing the Rockets on the floor of the Ohio House of Representatives” Buchy said. “This team played a tough regular season and successfully claimed a state title in the tournaments, in the final game they performed at their best and brought home a well deserved state title.” 

"The path to a state championship is long and difficult, but this team battled through those difficulties to become champions,” Adams said. “I’m pleased they were able to come and be recognized on the floor of the Ohio House.”
