We need your
help
County News Online, a fundraiser for the Senior Scribes Scholarship
Fund, needs your help. We have been publishing community news, events
and opinion for nearly three years. Until now we have been completely
supported by our sponsors. We have been able – through our business and
regular sponsors – to fund the majority of scholarships SSSF has been
able to award to students since 2011.
In 2013 CNO and SSSF helped 15 students. Partners in helping these
young people were SSSF friends and committee members, CNO sponsors,
Greenville Eagles, Dave Knapp Ford and The Bistro Off Broadway.
Due to tightening funds and fixed expenses associated with publishing a
daily online community information service, we will need your help if
we want to continue providing this service and still offer scholarships
for local college-bound students.
Our goal is $20,000 in 2014. This will meet our expenses and still
provide scholarship funding for six to eight students. Much of it will
come from our sponsors. The balance must come from donations.
Will you help?
With 30,000 to 35,000 unique visitors a month, we estimate 1,500 to
2,000 readers visit County News Online on a regular basis. A small
donation from each could help us continue providing this service and
help our kids achieve their college dreams.
