Amazing Asters

Asteracea. With over 23,000 species, this family of plants is the second largest in the world! As the autumn winds blow the colors of summer away, the asters are some of the remaining blooms. Join a Darke County Parks Naturalist to discover many of the species of asters in Ohio. On Thursday, October 10th at 6:30pm we’ll learn about some of the more common species and then take a hike to see them in action! Meet at the Nature Center at Shawnee Prairie (4267 State Route 502 West) for this FREE program. For more information call 937.548.0165 or visit our website at www.darkecountyparks.org.
