Darkeopoly fundraiser benefits students

GREENVILLE – Darkeopology is a takeoff on the popular Monopoly game and the Arcanum A# Music Boosters are offering it to game buffs who prefer a local twist to their amusement. 

The price of the game is $25. The various traditional properties, plus selected special positions, are sponsored by local businesses, according to Eric Aukerman. 

“We have about 250 games left,” he said. “Our first public sale was at Annie Oakley Days. We’ve been here throughout the fair and we’ll be selling it at Tour de Donut in Arcanum, Arcanum football games and if there is another First Friday, we’ll be in front of Youniques.” 

Sale will continue until supplies run out. 

Some of the premium spots went to the Fair Board for the cover and Wayne Health Care for the center; two more spots in the center section went to Jafe Decorating and Second National Bank. 

Aukerman said the Boosters have been raising funds for the band for 30 plus years. 

The money is used for competition entrance fees, instrument purchases and more. He nodded to the trailer behind him. “We were also able to replace our old trailer with some of the funds raised.”
