GHS Supply Chain Management helps Santa

On Saturday, December 6th the Supply Chain Management Team from Greenville High School Career Technical School were excited to once again assist at Breakfast with Santa held at the VFW in Greenville, Ohio. Terin Ellis, Junior SCM President said, "It was an amazing experience to get to do something for our community and put smiles on all the little ones faces!"

The annual event is hosted by the Greenville Business Professional Woman's Club to raise funds for their annual College scholarships provided to Darke County Young Women. This year the students from Supply Chain joined once again with the women of BPW to provide a festive event serving nearly 100 guests along with Santa Claus himself.

The students of Supply Chain Management set-up the tables, cooked breakfast, served the guests and assisted with the presenataion of gifts from Santa. Santa is certainly the highlight of the event. He enjoyed visiting with the children and their families over breakfast and then participated in his own photo shoot with every child....some adults too! After the fun was complete, the students cleaned up.

"I just love seeing the little children so excited! They are thrilled to see the Jolly Old Elf!", said Sydney Alcaraz, Senior Supply Chain Management student. "The SCM students are part of a 2 year business program offered at Greenville's Career Technical Center. Part of their program includes community service. The students love to be involved in the "work" of community service, however most will agree, it is so much fun to participate in helping the community, when you do it together!", said the instructor Mrs. Dara Buchy.

The Supply Chain Management program has 32 students enrolled. The students study Customer Service, Professionalism, the Movement of Goods and Services and are also proudly memebers of Business Professionals of America. If you or your organization has a need for volunteers or would like a student presentation of speaker - please feel free to contact instructor, Dara Buchy via email: dbuchy@greenville.k12.oh.us.
