Editor’s note: This was sent to one of our CNO readers in thanks for
her support of the USO:
There’s nothing like a cold drink and a hamburger hot off the grill. I
can tell you from experience that’s especially true when you’re
somewhere like Kandahar, Afghanistan.
Thanks to you and thousands of other USO supporters who donated this
month, we were able to deliver our uniquely American celebration of
independence to our troops around the world whose service makes it
possible. The music, food and games we gave them were quite an event!
This is what we do at the USO. We create authentically American moments
for our troops, wherever they are, to say thank you – from all of us.
I asked our team to collect photos so we could show you the troop
celebrations your donations made possible. I hope you enjoy seeing your
donations in action.
