Pets of the week

We have Lucy at the Darke County Animal Shelter. She is a 6-month-old Pug/Jack Russell mix. She is white and brown with short hair. She is a sweet little girl and will grow to around 20 pounds. She does have a cherry eye but it doesn’t seem to bother her. She is looking for a good home to have fun and play. She is ready for adoption.

We have Tyson at the Darke County Animal Shelter. He is a 2-year-old Chihuahua. He is black and tan with short hair. He is a sweet little guy and is good with kids. He is house broken and current on his shots. He’s not a lover of other dogs but will be good by himself. He is looking for a good home to run around in. He is ready for adoption.

We also have a black lab, a hound mix, a Walker and numerous other dogs. We also have cats and kittens for adoption.

The Shelter hours are 8am till 4:30pm Monday-Friday and 9:00 till noon on Saturday. The Shelter is located at 5066 County Home Road in Greenville, and the phone number is 547-1645.

The Friends of the Shelter will be hosting their 10 annual "Picture with Easter Bunny". It will be held at Wal-Mart in Greenville on March 22, 2014 from 10am to 2pm. You can bring your companion animals in through the Garden Center. Family and children are welcome to get their pictures taken also. This is a fun time and all proceeds go to help the animals in our care.

You can participate with or without your dog. If you have a dog, you're encouraged to run/walk with your dog. Special awards will be given to those with dogs. All regular age group awards will be given also.
