Therese Pohlman
celebrates 30 years at VHCC
On October 22, 2014, Therese Pohlman celebrated 30 years of employment
at Versailles Health Care Center. She joined Versailles Health
Care Center in 1984 as the Business Office Manager and has seen her
department grow from one to four staff members. She commented
that there have been a lot of changes over the last 30 years. “We
were a 50-bed facility in the beginning then added 30 beds to fill our
growing need in this community. In 1997 we added the Special Care
Unit which put us to 112 beds. I have seen lots of residents,
families and employees come and go throughout the 30 years. Some are
even 3rd generation coming in the door now for rehab and short-term
stays and I became acquainted with them when they were in here to visit
their grandma many years ago!”
When asked about her time at Versailles Health Care Center, Pohlman
said, “Through all the good and bad changes, one thing that has not
changed is I still enjoy getting to know and spending time with the
residents. We are not to show favoritism but some of the
residents become like family and you become very close to them. I
still have lots of fond memories of former residents from 20-25 years
ago.”
She and her husband, Bill, are the proud parents of three children,
Angie, Keith, and Amanda.
For her 30th year, the staff decorated her office with balloons and
signs! Kristy Earick, Executive Director, said “Therese is
extremely dedicated to Versailles Health Care Center and is always a
huge support to patients and their families. She has been a
high-achiever within our parent company, Covenant Care, and has premier
status within Covenant Care. Congratulations Therese!”
Versailles Health Care Center is a skilled nursing and rehabilitation
center that offers short-term rehab services, outpatient therapy, and
long-term care. Versailles Health Care Center sent home 166
patients that utilized its short-term rehab services in 2013 and 159
