MVCTC FFA Students Perform Well at District Speaking Contest

Englewood, Ohio - Miami Valley Career Technology Center (MVCTC) FFA members from the Hoke Road Campus and many of the MVCTC Agriculture satellite programs participated in the District 5 FFA Speaking Contest recently.  The contest included five speech categories and contestants from Anna, Ansonia, Botkins, Coldwater, Covington, Eaton-MVCTC, Ft. Loramie, Greenville, Houston, Miami East-MVCTC, Milton Union-MVCTC, MVCTC main campus, Mississinawa Valley-MVCTC, National Trail-MVCTC, Newton, Preble Shawnee, Sidney, St. Marys, Tri-Village-MVCTC, and Versailles.

Students placing in the contest from MVCTC and MVCTC Satellite Agriculture programs included the following students.

FFA Creed Speaking Contest:
Katelyn Niehaus, Eaton-MVCTC Satellite, 1st Place
Erika Gallaher, National Trail-MVCTC Satellite, Gold
Abigail Hissong, Milton-Union-MVCTC Satellite, Gold
Emily Thimmes, Miami East-MVCTC Satellite, Gold

FFA Advanced Creed Speaking Contest:
Rachel Watern, Tri-Village-MVCTC Satellite, Silver

Beginning Prepared Speaking Contest:
Natalie Wuebker, Mississinawa Valley-MVCTC Satellite, Gold
Lauren Muncy, MVCTC, Silver

Advanced Prepared Speaking Contest:
Aubrey Stevenson, Eaton-MVCTC Satellite, Silver

Extemporaneous Speaking Contest:
Nick Wheeler, MVCTC, 1st Place
Alison Grimes, National Trail-MVCTC, Silver

Nick Wheeler, a senior in the Natural Resource Management program from Milton Union, will advance to the State FFA Public Speaking Contest in March. 

For over 40-years, MVCTC has been providing career technical education for 27 partner school districts encompassing five counties in Southwest Ohio.  MVCTC is dedicated to providing in-demand workforce training for youth, adults, and organizations in the Miami Valley.
