MVCTC Senior Spotlight – Emily Weaver

Englewood, Ohio – Miami Valley Career Technology Center (MVCTC) senior, Emily Weaver a Business Academy student from Franklin Monroe, is already employed with Greenville National Bank as part of the MVCTC Advanced Placement/Internship Program and will be attending Indiana University East in the fall majoring in Accounting.

Emily shared, “I knew I wanted to pursue a career in business; MVCTC provided an excellent way for me to learn about the different aspects of business and helped me choose which field I wanted to go into. I love the atmosphere at MVCTC, it is not the typical high school; we are treated like adults here. The teachers at MVCTC adjust to your learning styles so you can learn efficiently.
I was able to get an internship at a bank while attending MVCTC, so not only did I learn about business, but I also got work experience as well.”

Emily is the daughter of Matt and Karla Weaver of Greenville. She is the recipient of a scholarship to Indiana University worth $27,000 and a scholarship to the University of Northwestern Ohio worth $2,000.

For over 40-years, MVCTC has been providing career technical education for 27 partner school districts encompassing five counties in Southwest Ohio.  MVCTC is dedicated to providing in-demand workforce training for youth, adults, and organizations in the Miami Valley.
