VHCC holds chairman’s banquet

Versailles Health Care Center, a skilled nursing and rehabilitation center, recently celebrated winning the Covenant Care’s Chairman’s Award, also known as “The Facility of the Year” award for 2014.  Kristy Earick, Executive Director, Dana Spurlock, Director of Nursing and Shannon Condon, Facility Rehab Director, had the great opportunity to accept this award at the Covenant Care Annual Meeting in March in Las Vegas.  Versailles Health Care Center earned this award and was selected out of 27 facilities in the Midwest Region.  “Our team is truly exceptional and it is an honor to be recognized for their hard work and dedication,” said Earick.

On May 19, 2015, at The Stillwater Golf Course, Rivera Room, Bob Levin, CEO of Covenant Care, presented the Chairman’s Award to Kristy Earick on behalf of VHCC with over 150 employees, vendors and business partners in attendance at the awards banquet.  “Versailles Health Care Center is the guiding light and one of our best facilities.  It is a rural facility doing the things to help patients typically only seen in urban facilities.  They have embraced some of the high-end programs such as Cardiac Recovery, Parkinson’s Program, Orthopedic Program, Pulmonary Rehabilitation, and Vestibular Rehab,” said Levin.   In addition to the Chairman’s Award, VHCC was presented with an Operational Excellence Award, Clinical Excellence Award as well as an Innovation Award for its Total Joint Replacement Class.  Earick also recognized Dr. Donald Pohlman for his many years of dedication and service as VHCC’s medical director and Dr. Chad Weber, Rehab Medical Director, for his leadership with our rehabilitation programs and Total Joint Class.

Individual employees were also recognized and received awards for their years of service, customer service, Pinnacle customer experience awards, and special recognition awards.  For 30 years of service:  Chris Huber-LPN, Therese Pohlman-Business Office Manager, Mary Bruening-STNA; Admissions Team Service:  Beth Bell, Sales & Marketing Director, Amber Bey, Admissions Services Manager, Therese Pohlman, Deanna Jones-Business Office Assistant, and Jackie McEldowney-Licensed Social Worker; Customer Service Awards; Mary Rahm-LPN, Ellen Haney-STNA, Kaleb Earick-STNA, Tami Stover- Case Mgr/LPN, Christina Louk- STNA, Stacy Grisez- STNA, Michelle Heindl- STNA, Alma May- Cook, Gina Boerger- PT, Rachel Francis-PTA, Melissa Griffin- Housekeeper, Angie Kaiser- OP Business Office Assistant; American Health Care Association Gold Team Writers:  Dana Spurlock- Director of Nursing and Amber Whittaker-Payroll Coordinator; Pinnacle Excellence Satisfaction Surveys-Best in Class:  Jean Unger-Laundry and Cleanliness, Shannon Condon- Rehabilitation Services, and Admissions Process -Beth Bell, Amber Bey, Therese Pohlman, Deanna Jones, and Jackie McEldowney; and Goose Award- Ohio Regional Award Q1- Amber Whittaker.

Guest speaker for the event was Mr. David Martino of Greenville.  Martino was a short-term rehab patient at Versailles Health Care Center after a total joint knee replacement.  According to Martino, “From the first moment I walked into Versailles for their joint class to the day I went home, everyone made me feel like I was a part of the family.  From nursing to therapy, I received great care and rehab.  I know when it’s time for surgery on my other knee, my only choice will be Versailles Health Care Center.”

Partners in care in attendance were Wayne HealthCare, Comprehensive Health Network, Spirit Medical Transport, The Daily Advocate, Wilson Home Health and Hospice, Kaup Pharmacy, Brookdale of Greenville, The Cerium Group, Sysco, and Omnicare.  They shared their services with VHCC employees as well as donated door prizes.

After the awards banquet and dinner, employees continued celebrating with musical entertainment.  Congratulations to the staff of Versailles Health Care Center!
