Upper Valley Career Center juniors participate in physical therapy exercises led by students of
Edison’s Physical Therapy Assistant program.

Upper Valley CC students Experience Edison

Over 325 Upper Valley Career Center students were on Edison State Community College’s Piqua Campus on Friday, October 23 for their second annual Experience Edison event. The junior and senior classes of Upper Valley CC toured the campus, participated in information sessions, and engaged in breakout sessions, which highlighted the College’s various fields of study.

“It was clear that the students really enjoyed their time on campus,” said Stacey Bean, Enrollment Manager at Edison.

Students participated in their choice of two hands-on breakout sessions, which explored such programs as Engineering, Computer Information Technology, Early Childhood Education, Physical Therapy Assisting, Business, Office Systems Administration, Nursing, Phlebotomy, and Medical Laboratory Technology.

During their visit, students also learned about the services available on campus, which covered such topics as financial aid, transfer opportunities, and career services.

Also highlighted during the day were the unique pathways that have been developed specifically for Upper Valley CC students. These opportunities provide students with a direct pathway from Upper Valley CC to Edison, allowing them to make optimal use of their time and money spent on education.

“This event provides a great opportunity for students to meet with faculty to learn about the direct pathways and articulation agreements held between Upper Valley Career Center and Edison,” added Bean.

“By choosing Edison, these students have the potential to earn college credit while still in high school and save a lot of money by doing so.”

Now in its fifth decade of service, Edison Community College is committed to providing higher education and advanced training opportunities for the people of the greater Miami Valley. Edison is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools and is recognized with the highest order attainable by the Ohio Board of Regents. With campuses in Piqua and Greenville, Edison provides a Personal Experience and Rewarding Education. Visit us online at www.edisonohio.edu.
