Like A Pirate Day at MV Elementary

MV Elementary is excited about what happened around the building
recently!
Students in grades Preschool through 5th participated in their first
ever "Teach Like A Pirate" (TLAP) Day. Teachers came up with
topics or activities they were passionate about outside of their topic
area, then developed lessons around them for students. The
teachers made videos introducing their passions and what they would
learn in that session, and then students got to choose the session they
would like to attend.
We had everything from "Ice Cream Scientists" to "Cake Wars", "Yoga",
"Sportsmanship", "Birdhouse Building", "Dog training", "S.T.E.M." and
more!! Regardless of grade level, students were "learning like
pirates" together!
Also, sixth grade students presented their Egyptian research projects
which included models, powerpoints, oral presentations, and more.
