Halloween from NPR Ed!
You may have noticed more superheroes on the streets for Halloween.
That's becasue superheroes finally surpassed princesses as the
top-selling Halloween costume for children, according to the National
Retail Federation. More than 3 million kids are estimated to
trick-or-treat as their favorite action or superhero, the retail group
estimates.
Princesses did have a good run — for the last 11 years, princess
costumes were the No. 1 choice for kids in the U.S., beating out
favorites like Spider-Man, animals, and witches.
