8 begins National PTA Teacher Appreciation Week!

May 8 begins National PTA Teacher Appreciation Week, with May 9 being
National Teacher Appreciation Day. There are more than 190,000 licensed
teachers in Ohio. Many are at work this very day teaching Ohio’s 1.6
million students the knowledge and skills they’ll need to succeed in
higher education, jobs and life. The Ohio Department of Education
congratulates these professionals on choosing such an important career.
The hard work they do to educate our children ensures that successive
generations of Ohioans can live prosperous and satisfying lives, and it
generates capable leaders who can help keep our state and our nation
strong. Happy National PTA Teacher Appreciation Week, Ohio teachers!
