Edison’s Gibellino to Speak to Volunteers on Dec. 8
November  29, 2011

Pam Gibellino, Edison College Coordinator of Career Services, will speak to the Darke County Volunteer Network on Thursday, December 8 in the Community Room at State of the Heart Hospice.  The one-hour meeting will begin at noon, a “bring your own brown bag” luncheon.  Cookies and coffee will be provided.  Gibellino will discuss marketing volunteerism and how non-profit agencies can develop their volunteers’ skills.

“Volunteers and their organizations become more successful when the managers of the volunteers are well-trained and supported,” said Pauline Faller, Volunteer Coordinator at State of the Heart Hospice. Kristy Cutarelli, a local food pantry director has been attending the Darke County Volunteer Network. The Fish Choice Pantry regularly uses 30+ volunteers and Cutarelli has participated in managerial trainings.  “Whether you lead volunteers who serve in the nursery of your church or you oversee volunteer projects for a large non-profit, you will find support and free education with the Darke County Volunteer Network.”

Gibellino has been associated with Edison College since 1993 and taught adult education: Computer Information, Business Writing, Effective Communication, and First Year Experience.  In her current role she provides career counseling, job search assistance and acts as an academic advisor.  She works with specialized populations, including those receiving funding under the Workforce Investment Act and Trade Adjustment Assistance Program.

Prior to coming to West Central Ohio, Gibellino worked in Human Resource Management for a Fortune 500 Company in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Her undergraduate degree is in business from Robert Morris University in Pittsburgh. She holds a graduate degree in education from the University of Dayton, with a specialization in school counseling. She is now a certified Zenger Miller communications trainer and recently became certified to administer the Myers/Briggs Type Indicator personality assessment.
