The next meeting of the “Living with Cancer” Support Group will be held on Thursday, August 4th from 7:00 to 8:30 pm.  The meeting will be a Restorative Yoga Workshop that will take place at the Darke County YMCA of Greenville with the room to be announced. This month will feature Marianne Sigman, RYT; she will be leading the group in a session of restorative yoga for those who are currently battling cancer. You must register for this free workshop because we only have eight spots left! Call the Cancer Association at 937-548-9960 to register.

Marianne Sigman, RYT is currently teaching yoga in the Greenville area and has been a local resident for 20 years. With a great passion for knowledge and an interest in assisting people through exercise, Marianne sought to become a yoga teacher. Marianne is excited to share what she has learned with the Darke County community and she is always learning more and more about this beneficial lifestyle. She hopes to help people in their personal journey of yoga and to deepen their understanding of the mind and body connection that yoga can offer to bring calm and peace to their lives.

Your local and independent Cancer Association of Darke County sponsors the “Living with Cancer” group in cooperation with Wayne HealthCare and the YMCA of Darke County.  The Support Group is open to anyone that has been diagnosed with cancer; the family and friends of an individual with cancer are encouraged to attend the group as well.  Facilitating the support group meetings will be Warren Richards from the Cancer Association, Kay Kirby, Jill Brown, and Vicky Henderson from Wayne Hospital, and Pam Spitler from Breast Cancer Awareness of Darke County. To register for the Restorative Yoga Workshop, you must be going through active cancer treatment or have just finished active treatment. If you would like to be placed on the waiting list for the session, you may contact the Cancer Association and place your name on the waiting list. Once registration is full, people will be able to attend the group but will not be able to participate in the workshop, please call now to register!
