Bigger and Badder

It really was ‘bigger and badder’

Greenville Eagles Independence Day Celebration and Fireworks entertained thousands
By Bob Robinson

By all accounts, the crowd was bigger than last year, possibly even hitting the 3,000 mark judging by the wide pockets of celebrants over the approximately 7-8 acre expanse of manicured grounds.

By all accounts, both bands were a hit. Tempest entertained hundreds with its 60’s music in the afternoon; headliner Classified entertained thousands… listening and dancing while waiting for dark.

By all accounts, the fireworks display was ‘bigger and badder’ than last year, a phrase coined by Eagles Treasurer Joe Shumaker. Lasting about the same time as the year before, huge displays literally jumped out of the night sky. The “oohs” and “aahs” were almost continuous.

County News Online has nearly 300 photos to work through. It will take a few days, but they depict many of the celebrants enjoying the evening. They will be published soon in our Photos Tab.
