It’s that time of year again. Twelve contestants will be vying for the title Miss Annie Oakley 2011 beginning July 27.

Preliminaries will take place at 6 p.m. Wednesday (27th), and Miss Annie Oakley 2011 will be named following the elimination contest starting at 6 p.m. on Thursday. She will be on hand for the opening of the 48th annual Annie Oakley Days at the Darke County Fairgrounds Friday morning.

Thursday evening, Miss Annie Oakley 2010, Ansonia’s Ruby Jo Walls, will present the trophy to the new winner.

Pictured below are Ruby and the two runners-up, Molly Magato and Terah Colby, both Greenville High School students. Also pictured from last year are previous contest winners Jenna Dowler, Darlene Osborne, Kristina Klein, Hannah Linebaugh and Leah Metzgar.

The Annie Oakley Festival will run from July 29 through July 31. Weekend tickets can be purchased in advance for $2. At the gate, they are $3 each.
