Buchy guest speaker at Rep Men’s Club

State Representative Jim Buchy (Dist. 77) will be the guest speaker at the Darke County Republican Men’s Club meeting on Saturday, March 19. He represents Mercer, Preble and portions of Darke County.

Buchy was appointed by Gov. John Kasich in January to fill Jim Zehringer’s term when the former State Representative was appointed Ohio Director of Agriculture.

Buchy served in the Ohio House from 1983 to 2000 where he held positions as assistant majority floor leader, majority whip and assistant majority whip. He was term-limited in 2000.

Since his appointment, Buchy has been involved in recent legislation to pass HB 58 (Jobs Bill), regulatory reform, prescription drug abuse, school calamity days and will soon be addressing Ohio’s controversial SB 5 on union collective bargaining.

The Darke County Republican Men’s Club meets at 8 a.m. the third Saturday of every month in the Employee Cafeteria at Brethren Retirement Community. A buffet breakfast is included for a donation of $6. The meeting is open to the public.

The club is growing and currently accepting new memberships. Member dues are $20 a year.
