March Meeting – Please join us!
Thursday, March 17th

Brethren’s Home Private Dining Room – Come in the main door at the main building. The dining room is straight ahead, and the private dining room is to your right as soon as you enter the main dining area – you can’t miss it.

Join us for pizza and pop at 6:30pm, or arrive by 7:00pm just to hear the speaker.  We will conduct a short business meeting following the speaker’s presentation – any current members or those who may like to join are welcome to stay for the business meeting.

Our speaker for the March meeting is a gentleman named Ron Musilli.  He is from Miami County and asked if he could share with our group some of what they have been working on there.   Ron recently testified in front of the House Sub-Committee on the health care legislation pending in Ohio. His intention is to engage in a short “what do we need to do to get more young people involved” discussion with Darke Countians.

If you would like a better feel for what Mr. Musilli has to offer us as a speaker, the following is some of the information he shared when he contacted us several weeks ago:

“The most immediate project is the upcoming vote on the debt ceiling. We have had conversations and meetings with John Boehner’s team and also Rand Paul. We had a conference call with both last week, and the indication was that the Republicans were going to agree to the new debt ceiling and ask for a pittance in return! In addition, congress may take the vote up next week by combining it with the CR legislation (Continuing Resolution to keep the government working since no one has seen fit to pass a budget for two years). So, that is on our plate and should be of interest.

Right now I am working with Dr. Joe Lisanti on speaking engagements on the health care law. We are also working with the District 8 group on monthly meetings with John Bohener’s team. We now have conference calls monthly with Freedom Works (Matte Kibbe and Dick Armey) in Washington, and next week we have a conference call with Jim DeMint.

We are also working to get speakers for the first Tea Party/Liberty Convention in Columbus over fourth July weekend. This will be a national convention.

We have people who are working to secure information from the EPA under the freedom of information act as well as legal people looking at both the START treaty and also the Patriot Act.

There is much, much more, but we are doing our best to stay on top of a runaway train.”
