Volunteer Opportunities
Below you will find a list of the upcoming Volunteer Opportunities for
the months of November and December! Please let me know if you
are interested in helping with any of these opportunities!

November 2011
Tuesday, November 29 at 10 AM
We will be decorating the Log House for Christmas. All supplies are
provided we are just in need of some helpers. Please dress for
the weather and meet in the Nature Center.
Wednesday, November 30 at 9AM
We will be decorating the Nature Center for Christmas. All supplies are provided we are just in need of some helpers.
December 2011
Friday, December 2 at 10AM
Filling Luminaries with sand for the Walkin’ in a Winter Wonderland
Saturday, December 3 at 5-9PM
Come and be a part of our 4th annual Walkin’ in a Winter
Wonderland! During this event we will need volunteers to assist
on the trail, in the Log House and the Nature Center. Please let me
know if you are interested (should have received a separate email about
this) and we sign up today!
Tuesday, December 6 at 10AM
Collecting all luminaries off the trail, removing candles, and dumping out sand.
Tuesday, December 6 at 6PM
Come and join us for the Christmas Carry-In Dinner at SPP. Please bring
a covered dish to share along with a non-perishable food item to be
donated to a local Food Pantry. During this dinner the Park
District will be receiving the Monsanto grant check that we were
awarded in September. This money will be used to update the animal
habitat displays in the classroom.
Saturday, December 10th at 10AM
Habitat Healing: Join us as we remove honeysuckle from Shawnee Prairie
Woods. Bring gloves, hand saws, and pruners to assist. Dress for the
weather!
