Beggars’ Night 2011

Look for this badge on Thursday, October 27, for Beggar’s Night on Broadway!  Over 50 businesses and 225 volunteers will be passing out candy to an estimated group of 1,200 Beggars’. What better way to have the businesses say thank you to the community & bring everyone together for a fun filled evening.

This special event, immediately following the annual Lion’s Club Halloween Parade at 7 pm, will be held rain or shine and is geared towards children in Kindergarten through fifth grade.  In addition to candy stations, a haunted house will be available as well as a luminary display of pumpkins at the circle. The committee also encourages participants to bring unwanted eyeglasses to the event to drop off at the several locations accepting the glasses for the Lion’s Club Work For Sight Program.

Over fifty businesses are participating in this event that has been organized by Main Street Greenville & volunteers Antonia Baker (Second National Bank), Joan Brandt (Commercial Printing Company), Mary Lane (Staffmark) and Julie Kessen (Granny’s Corner).
