Prepping for the DCCAdent Evening is Chef Uwe Knebelsberger of Greenville Golf Course.

Authentic Italian Meal with Wines

DCCAdent EVENING...

A unique multi course dinner, paired with wines, is Chef Uwe Knebelsberger’s strong suit.  “Mr. K” has each year prepared the meal for the DCCAdent Evening, exceeding expectations with his culinary talents.  This year’s event is Friday, October 7 at the Greenville Golf Course.

Mr. K was born in Vienna, Austria, where his family owned a popular restaurant. He has been in the business since he was 13 years old. He was hired in 1972 by Max Comisar to run the King Cole Restaurant in Dayton and worked for the Comisar family for over 20 years, eventually overseeing 7 of their restaurants. Additionally, he owned Waldo Pepper’s Restaurant in Vandalia.  After spending his professional life in the food business, hiring a number of remarkable French chefs, he decided to become Chef at the Greenville Golf Course, formerly the Greenville Country Club, 17 years ago.

According to Chef Uwe, “The annual DCCA wine tasting dinner has always been a popular event at the Greenville Golf Course. It gives you the opportunity to taste wines from around the world paired with food matching the wine’s origin. This year’s event focuses on Italy.”

He went on to say, “Having lived in Europe for many years, I have had countless opportunities to experience Italian “home cooking”. This year’s dinner features dishes your Italian grandma would fix for her family.”

“From Zucchini  Fritters to a Seafood Gondola appetizer to Poached Bass Florentine and a Beef Braciole, all the way to home made Chocolate Gelato, this Italian dinner is not to be missed,”  he added.

The authentic Italian dinner will be paired with wines from Castello Banfi, Italy.  Mr. K uses those wines in the preparation of some courses as well. The main dish, the Beef Braciole, is served with Potato Gnocchi and a Chianti Sauce made from the Chianti Superiore wine that it will be paired with.

Also that evening, there will be an auction for 4 tickets to the November 19 OSU vs. Penn State game graciously donated by State Representative Jim & Sharon Buchy.   Music will be provided by Fun House Mirrors, Columbus.

Tickets for $70.00, include dinner, wine, entertainment, tax and tip.  Tickets are available at the DCCA office at 547-0908 or at the Greenville Golf Course.  As space is limited, the ticket purchase deadline is September 30.

New this year to the DCCAdent Evening will be the opportunity for an optional tasting of the premium wines offered by Banfi.  This unique experience will be available during appetizers for $20 for four pours.
