Bright Beginnings at Bear’s Mill 

April 1 through 22 from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm. An exhibit dubbed, Bright Beginnings will open the new season of ‘Art at The Mill.’ Featuring blown glass created by Cedarville resident, Jim DeLange and the “Rhythms of the Earth” paintings by Rusty Harden, the show opens on Friday, March 30 with a reception offering light appetizers and wine from 6:00 to 9:00 pm. Both of these artists produce joyous, brilliantly colored works which will provide an appropriate celebratory effect to kick off the new artist season. (937) 548-5112 www.BearsMill.com. 

Thrill of the Grill 

April 5, 6 & 7 from 5:00 to 9:00 pm. Join in the fun at The Winery at Versailles with this unique dining experience! All meats are provided, you do the grillin’. Dinner includes salad, bread, your choice of meat (steak, chicken, or salmon), a baked potato, vegetables, dessert and a bottle of wine, all for just $60, per couple. Coffee House Series: Lisa Biales at Montage Cafe 

April 12 from 7:00 to 9:00 pm. Darke County Center for the Arts wraps up the season’s Coffee House Series with a performance by the charming singer & songwriter, Lisa Biales at Montage Cafe in downtown Greenville. With a crystal pure voice, Lisa’s evocative songs that are a joy to listen to. Tickets are $10. Call (937) 547-0908 for reservations. www.CenterforArts.net. 

Dining By Rails 

April 14 6:00 pm. The Bradford Ohio Railroad Museum is hosting its first fundraising dinner and silent auction at the Stillwater Golf Club, Versailles. This special fundraiser will contribute to the capital improvements at the museum, a $250,000 project. The museum is the only museum in the area preserving railroad history and the renovation will result in finished permanent exhibits to tell the railroad story. The meal consists of authentic recipes from the rail lines that were known for their 5 star rating. Michael James of Catering by Michael will be the chef for the event. Wine 101: Wine Basics 

April 20 7:00 to 9:00 pm. Enjoy a fun night of wine knowledge with The Winery at Versailles’ very own maker of the wine! 40th Anniversary of The Parks 

April 21 10:00 am. What better way to celebrate the 40th Anniversary and Earth Day than to immerse yourself in nature and explore some of the many parks that make up the Darke County Park District. Meet at Shawnee Prairie Preserve, then hop in the big, white van and travel to as many parks as we can to hike the trails and see what we can find.
