Fair opens August 17
The Great Darke County Fair 2012 kicks off with the annual Ribbon
Cutting Ceremony at 8 a.m. Friday, Aug. 17. It doesn’t take long for
the action to kick in with the Cheerleading Contest taking place at 11
a.m. and Harness Racing at 7 p.m.; both in the Grandstand.
Gates open at 7 a.m. with amusement rides kicking in at noon. While
most vendors open at 10 a.m., many will be available for early visitors
offering breakfast items.
Ticket prices remain the same: For ages 12 and older... $15 for the
full nine days; $5 per day. Grandstand events, including Harness Racing
and National Tractor Pull are in addition to fair admission.
An Evening with Foreigner - tickets are $25 for track seating; $23 for
Grandstand and Bleachers. Greenville High School’s Wavaires will be
performing one or more selections with the popular group. For tickets
