Bridges to College...
Benefit raffle winners have chance for Light autographed football and more

(Greenville) Area residents can support Bridges to College and receive a chance to win a football autographed by Matt Light, a KitchenAid mixer and other fantastic prizes when they purchase raffle tickets.

Bridges to College is conducting a raffle in conjunction with the annual Karlh McCallister Memorial Golf Outing on Saturday, June 23, at Turtle Creek Golf Course.

“You do not need to participate in the golf outing to participate in the raffle,” says Marlise McCallister, Bridges to College board member and organizer of the event.

This year’s raffle items include a football autographed by Greenville native and three-time Super Bowl winner Matt Light, Frigidaire wine cooler, touch screen Internet tablet, Rachel Ray cookware, Blu-ray DVD player, Callaway golf balls, and gift certificates for rounds of golf (Stillwater, Turtle Creek, White Springs), area restaurants (Versailles Inn, CJ Highmarks, Montage, Bristro) and gas cards.

“So many area individuals and businesses have donated great prizes for this year’s raffle,” McCallister says.

Raffle tickets are $5 each, three for $10, and seven for $20. They may be purchased in advance from any Bridges to College board member, including Bill LaFramboise, Ryan Cox, Diane Swallow, Kevin Blakeley, Aaron Cox, Marlise McCallister, Janice Michael, Chris Mortensen, Ken Neff, Chris Seger, Brian Swiger, and Rhonda Williams. Also selling tickets are Susan Riegle and Dave Ernst.

Tickets may also be purchased at Hansbarger Home Solutions, 1127 Sweitzer St.; Montage Café, 527 S. Broadway; and from Kevin Chalk at Turtle Creek Golf Club.

The drawing will be after the Karlh McCallister Memorial Golf Outing. Winners need not be present to win.

The raffle is just one of three ways that area residents can support Bridges to College, a non-profit organization that helps students go to college. Bridges to College offers educational programming, one-on-one mentoring, and need-based scholarships to students in the Greenville and Ansonia school districts.

Registration and sponsorships are now being accepted for the Karlh McCallister Memorial Golf Outing at 1 p.m. Saturday, June 23, at the Turtle Creek Golf Course, formerly the Greenville Golf Course. People may register online at the Bridges to College website at www.bridges2college.org or by calling Marlise McCallister at 423-2445.

Following the golf outing will be a hog roast and an auction featuring New England Patriot and Greenville native Matt Light. The auction will be at 6 p.m. at Turtle Creek Golf Course.

The auction will feature about 10 items including: a football helmet autographed by Matt Light, a Frigidaire 2-temperature zone wine cooler, Cincinnati Reds vs. St. Louis Cardinal tickets (Aug. 24), Cincinnati Reds vs. St. Louis Cardinal tickets (Aug. 25), Indianapolis Colts tickets, Ohio State Football tickets, Darke County YMCA family membership, Sound Bar with wireless subwoofer, and a 32-inch high definition television.

Tickets for the hog roast and auction must be purchased in advance. They are $10 each and may be purchased at Hansbarger Home Solutions, 548-3174, at Turtle Creek Golf Course, 548-3563, or online at the Bridges to College website, www.bridges2college.org.
