Volunteer Activities
 
Join us and be a part of our 5th annual luminary event! The Walkin' in a Winter Wonderland will be held on Saturday, December 1st:  6-9pm.  During this event we will need volunteers to assist on the trail, in the Log House and in the Nature Center.  Below you will find a list of tasks of which we need help with.  If in the Log House, please wear period attire and if on the trail please dress for the weather.
 
Volunteer Tasks:
 
Trail:

Friday, November 30th at 10AM: Fill Luminaries with sand
Saturday, December 1st at Noon: Set Luminaries on trail and make sure all have a candle so they are ready to be lit.
Saturday, December 1st at 4:30: Light Luminaries (All luminaries have a candle in them that will need to be lit)
Saturday, December 1st at 5:00: Trail Monitors (monitor luminaries during event to ensure all candles remain lit, replace any burnt out candles, blow candles out at the end of the event.)
 
Monday, December 3rd at 10AM: Pick up all luminaries from trail, remove candles and dump sand out of luminaries.

Log House:

Saturday, December 1st at 5:00: Welcome the public to Log House
Saturday, December 1st at 5:00: Serve Drinks and Spice Cake
Saturday, December 1st at 5:00: Popcorn and Cranberry Stringing (assist the children with stringing pieces of popcorn and cranberries on a string that they can take home or put on our tree down stairs.
 
Nature Center:

Saturday, December 1st at 5:00: Welcome everyone to the event
Saturday, December 1st at 5:00: Gift Shop / Reception Desk
Saturday, December 1st at 5:00: Snowmen Ornament (craft take place in Assembly Room)
Saturday, December 1st at 5:00:  Gingerbread Cookie Decorating (Assist children in decorating their cookie with icing and sprinkles.
 
Can’t make it on Saturday night or just enjoy helping? If so, we need the following supplies/bake goods. If you are willing to donate / make any portion of the items below please let me know.
 
4-5 brown grocery bags of plain air popped popcorn
5 (12 oz.) bags of Cranberries
24 dozen Gingerbread Cookies
3 Large tubs of Wilton icing
10 (9x13) pans of Spice Cake – Laura Schwieterman has a recipe
12 gallons of Apple Cider
9 inch aluminum pie pans
Small (2 or 4 hole) buttons
Pinecones
