Greenville Athletic Boosters…
“Back the Wave” A
Success Thanks to the Community
Greenville City Schools student athletes in conjunction with the
Greenville Athletic Boosters, held their annual fundraising event,
traditionally known as “Back the Wave” on August 15th.
Student Athletes went door to door collecting community donations and
provided a Green Wave decal and a sports schedule. According to
Stephanie Baumgardner, Athletic Boosters Treasurer; donations were up
this year; raising $3900!
After going door to door the students report back to the GHS Cafeteria
to add their collected donations and receive a bite to eat for their
hard work. Special Thanks to Jim's for their annual donation of hot
dogs and buns to feed the volunteers and students, to Girls' Cheer for
donating cookies toward the event as well as the coaches and parents
that donated their time to coordinate the event and driving students to
their designated area of town.
