DCCA presents Missoula Children’s Theatre
The Tortoise versus the Hare featuring local student cast

Saturday August 3 at Memorial Hall 

Audiences of all ages will get a fresh look at an old favorite this Saturday, August 3 when the Missoula Children’s Theatre (MCT) and more than 50 local students present THE TORTOISE VERSUS THE HARE.  Playing the title characters, Coach Shelley Bowlback and Curly Hare, are local students Sarah Crumrine and Cylas Conway.  Other featured characters include Emma Brunswick as Esther Bunny, Kenzie Baker as Little Bonnie Bunny and the Weasels played by Aaron Buchy and Maddy Baker.  The Ferrets will be played by Christian Layman, Allie Tanner and Sophie Gettinger the Reptiles will be played by Madelaine Gantt as Gila Gecko, Jakob Poor as Gala Gecko, Audrey Florkey as Glama Gecko, Brookelynne Via as Momsy Gecko, Cameron Clark as Popsy Gecko, Olivia Early as Camelia Chameleon, Kale Conway as Slinky Sidewinder, Carter Puckett as Maraca Rattlesnake, Maxwell Jordan as Oggy Froggy, Lauren Hartings as Joady Toady, Alex Strait as Beadie Bearded Dragon and Rachel Wright as Lizard McChill while Ethan Davis as Wesley, Reagan Herndon as Farnsworth, Peyton Kreitzer as Basil, Sara Rice as Nigel, Jennifer Stone as Kensington, Jessica Tanner as Alfred, and Kassidy York as Reginald will make up the Thespian Troupe. Appearing as Curly’s Posse will be Jacob Early, Isaac Gulley, Elizabeth Moss, Kaylee Phelan and Zeke Wright the TV Crew will be Jackson Pietrzak, Jessica Setser and Abigail White with Seth Conway, Casey Puckett and Lucy Stiefel playing the Stagehands.  The Curly Hare Fan Club will be played by Stuart Brown, Isaiah Early, Will Gettinger, Isabella Gulley, Eliya Harshbarger, Payton Herrmann, Travis Herrmann, Henry Jordan, Abby Krauss, Ava Loudy, Hosanna Layman, Molly Phelan, Lauren Pohl, Callie Pope, Gabe White, Karis Wright.  Hannah Gulley, Alex Read, Gabrielle Sprinkle and Haddi Treon have served as Assistant Directors throughout the week.  Judy Kugel returned as the accompanist for the production. 

THE TORTOISE VERSUS THE HARE will be presented at 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. at St. Clair Memorial Hall.  Tickets are $5 and will be available at the door. 

This Missoula Children’s Theatre residency is presented by Darke County Center for the Arts with support from Darke County Endowment for the Arts, Harry D. and Esther Stephens Memorial Trust and DCCA membership support.  In addition, The Ohio Arts Council helped fund this program with state tax dollars to encourage economic growth, educational excellence, and cultural enrichment for all Ohioans.    For more information, call DCCA at 547-0908 or visit www.centerforarts.net.
